Lyllae
8 birds....oh two more 10 birds...aww the cat scared them off 0 birds. Lyllae was standing at the counter of her mothers small shop staring out the window and counting the birds in the lime tree. there were no customers, no interesting animals, no excitement at all. She sighed and glanced longingly at her staff that rested against the wall. Her mother had forbidden her to practice while working. "you will scare the customers and hurt yourself" Lyllae mimicked her mothers tone perfectly. She thought about cleaning the counter again, but it had only been 12 minutes since she had finished cleaning it last time. No she was stuck bird watching and waiting on customers to never show up!
"God can i have an adventure? a knight in shining armor perhaps?" She asked nicely and waited.......nothing. "I don't need a knight or anything, i mean it could be a wizard or even a werewolf! please please please?? i will take anything you have available at the moment" She continued her out loud prayer. She had always dreamed of adventure. She could find a master to teach her more complex staff fighting, or save some people in grave peril, or fight evil bloodthirsty monsters, or even meet a cute boy! and think of all the different kinds of flowers she could see if she traveled the world. She came back to reality as a man walked by and didn't come in. He must not be the one she was waiting for. Lyllae suppered a sigh and looked out the window again. oh 5 birds are back.

Sylvanthe eased herself off the horse slowly. Her foot was healing. Slowly. Slowly stunk. Did anyone realize how expensive healers are? So of course she couldn't walk from... whatever that tiny town's name was to here. Wherever here was. And she couldn't shapeshift, because then she would be a marten (a sort of weasel) with a broken foot and still wouldn't be able to walk. So she stole a horse.
Okay okay stealing was wrong, she knew that. But she was an outlaw. Outlaws stole things. Maybe you should consider a career change. SHUT UP. Sylvanthe told the voice inside her head. But she knew it was right. So once she got her bum off the horse she wrapped the reins around it's neck and slapped it's bum to get it moving back to wherever she had gotten it from. She had heard somewhere that horses went back to their home if you let them. "So go home horse," she called after it as it trotted away.
She looked around this town. It seemed pretty still. Was it everybody's nap time or something? Well that was okay because then no one would stare at her and ask her 'are you okay what's wrong with you' sorts of questions. Since this was probably a crown country and people did those sorts of things because they were nice like that. But right now Sylvanthe didn't think she could deal with those questions now. Hey look, shade. It was by a shop with a girl in the front who looked deathly bored. Sylvanthe limped over. Shade was shade, even if there were people nearby. And this sun was hot.
Sylvanthe This life we lead is never boring new things come with every morning

Keena There's no such thing as perfect people There's no such thing as a perfect life
Keena was mad. No, not mad. Angry. Ticked-off. "Okay, look, I TOLD YOU, I'm just the transporter. Don't freak out at me if your jewels have flaws or cracks in them or whatever." The stout balding jeweler piped back up in this really high annoying voice. "You must have done something-" "for the last time, I DID NOT TOUCH YOUR STUPID GEMS. Okay? They stay in my moneypouch around my waist. I never take them out. They must have been given to me like that. So deal with it, give me my money, and send a message yelling at your supplier." He glared, but gave her her money. It might have had something to do that she had leaned on her staff like she knew how to use it. Which, she did.
"Thank you." She said, swiping the money up and sticking it in her pocket. She really did try not to slam the door as she walked out of the shop. But she didn't succeed. She looked around Tinsile, wondering what to do. She had some money, finally, and could actually spend something. You know how annoying it is to have thousands of dollars worth of money around your waist and know you can't spend any of it? Amazing self restraint, that's what Keena had. She was kind of hungry too. And she wouldn't get another shipment until next week. Which meant she could just chill here. Though this town was kinda tiny. Oh, look, birds. Birds were cute, when they weren't bugging you for food and trying to poo on you. Keena would sit with those birds. She wasn't feeling very nice toward people right now.

Lyllae
She looked out the window and GASP!!! a person! Oh God thank you thank you thank you I love youuuu!!!! She made a fantastic leap over the counter and bounded toward the door. She slipped on her shoes and opened the door calmly. "Hello stranger my name is Lyllae! oh dang your foot doesn't look so good. do you need like a chair or ice or something?" Lyllae was slightly disappointed to find that there was no knight, but she would take a best friend too. She was also disappointed that she had no medical skills whatsoever. She looked around franticly and saw another person! "Hey! do you know what to do with a....hurtish foot?" Lyllae asked, she had no idea what the correct term for a hurt foot was. and saying an 'ouchy' didn't sound as urgent as the foot looked.

Sylvanthe blinked under this sudden burst of sound. Her head couldn't process that fast. Um what had she said? Oh right. Sylvanthe cleared her throat and said, Hi. Alright, she was off to a good start. Okay, this person's name was Lyllae. Good to know. I'm Sylvanthe. She was doing well. You do know the reason you can't think straight is because you just got a headache and you're standing in bright sunlight right? The voice in her head said. Oh, yeah. Sylvanthe moved under the awning and into the blessed shade. Much better. Oh you don't have to bother...Stop lying. Your foot hurts like no other. Sylvanthe realized that usually she put people off, trying to make them feel better while she felt worse. Maybe once in a while someone could do something for her. You know, that chair and ice would be awesome, thank you so much. She told the helpful girl, who looked really happy to be talking to anyone. It must be really boring just sitting here waiting for someone to show up, and then maybe they wouldn't even buy anything. On the other hand, Sylvanthe had no idea what it was Lyllae sold... her foot told her to PAY ATTENTION to it, so Sylvanthe stopped her inner musings to better focus on not hitting her foot on anything.

Keena backpedalled frantically. Whoa, there were way too many hyper people around here. "Hey! do you know what to do with a....hurtish foot?" Keena cast a longing glance at the birds eating peacefully. But helping people was the right thing to do right? She flipped her braid over her should and and kept walking toward them. "What's up?" She asked both girls, looking between them. "What's wrong with your foot?" She asked the one girl. She had liked taking those healing courses in Wizard college; Keena could maybe help, depending on what it was. She stunk at diseases, though. Another class she had stunk at was the weather. Clouds were obstinate little beasts when they wanted to be. Keena frowned, just remembering. She used to get rained on or struck by a mini lightning bolt every other class period. But she was brought back to the present. Keena leaned on her staff and said, "I might be able to help. I'm a wizard, though I mostly work with light and gems and things like that." The lute on her back bounced. "And music." Playing it, actually. Singing wasn't the best idea for Keena. Hey you don't like my vocal chords, take it up with God, he gave them to me.

"A wizard! thats awsome." She marveled at the newcomer. Lyllae had never seen a real wizaard before for some reason she always pictured a tall guy witha white beard. But this wizard was a girl and .... did she say gems? "What kind of gems?" then she rememberd her other new friend and quickly apologized "oh sorry i will be right back with the ice and chair." So she ran back inside and went to look for the requested items. Thank you God! She prayed and then she tripped over the chair she was looking for.

Sylvanthe scowled at her foot. "It's broken. It's been like three weeks so I thought it would be better..." She trailed off, annoyed. Feet are strange things. But is it wrong for me to want to be better now?! Don't ask me, I'm just your conscience. Some help you are. Sylvanthe smiled at the new girl. Her hair was in a honey-colored braid, and she carried herself with confidence. Unlike herself. Outlaw, remember? I don't know how to relate to people because of being an outlaw. Maybe you should work on that.
Keena half-grinned at the eager girl. "I dunno, like, sapphires and opals and diamonds and stuff. Precious stones, crystal. I just like 'em." Opals were really fun to work with because they contained so many colors. The only drawback was that they were mostly opaque. Keena stared at her foot. "Broken? How? Cracked, fractured...? Are the bones in the right spot, or do you know?" That was pretty important. If the bones weren't in the right spot, your foot would heal weird and it would hurt forever after. Which would totally stink, in Keena's opinion. Pain of any kind stunk. Especially toothaches. Why does my brain come up with the most random info at the strangest times? Keena asked herself as something in the shop banged.

Lyllae "dont worry i' allright!" she sprang out of the store with a dripping cloth full of ice and a chair. "so what else does your foot need? the healer left yesterday to take care of a little girl in one of the farms and he isnt expected back till tomorow. But i could take some stuff from his shop and blame it on my brother." She offered as she sat the chair down in the shade. She was realy curious as to how they would fix the foot. She was so much better at breaking things than fixing them.

"This shapeshifter stepped on it. I don't think the bones are in the wrong spot. I mean, they look okay." Sylvanthe sat in the chair the girl brought and eased her boot off slowly. "Thanks," she told the girl. Oh, I'm Sylvanthe," she told everyone in general, tucking a strand of her dark hair back behind her ear. She smiled gratefully at the two other girls. Thank you God for sending me people when I needed them. You have divine planning like that.
Keena frowned in concentration. Maybe she'd have to do a scrying of the inside of her foot. That could work, she had a small mirror in her pouch. Keena pulled it out and whispered. The surface changed from silver to milky white, then began to form the red and blue vessels, muscles, and bones inside of the shapeshifter's foot. Keena peered at it for a second, then sighed in relief. No muscles were torn, and the bone was only cracked, not snapped or out of place. "I think the ice will be fine for now. I just need to heal the bone." Keena knelt down and took hold of Sylvanthe's stocking foot. Lord, please help me remember those courses I took in school and let me use the gifts you gave me to heal her foot. She felt her hands heat up, and the heat was transferred to Sylvanthe's foot. And just like that, the bone was whole. All done," she said, standing and dusting her hands off. Now she was REALLY HUNGRY. "I'm Keena. What's your name?" she asked the third girl. If they were doing introductions she'd like to know everyone's name.

"Oh ya, i'm sorry, my name is Lyllae. My family owns this shop." she felt embarest that she had failed to meantion her name sooner. "So, is the foot all fixed?" she asked to hopefully distract them from her earlyer rudeness. Mother would skin me alive if she found out i forgot to introduse myself first.

[ooc: sorry it's been awhile. school ]
Sylvanthe knew her eyes were bugging out of her head. Her foot had felt like it was on fire one second and then the next it was cool and calm. But IT ITCHED LIKE NO OTHER. She yanked off her boot and sock and scratched. And scratched. And scratched. "Was this supposed to happen?" she asked. "Because I definetely did not sign up for the 'let's pretend my foot is made of snad paper' contract."
Keena considered several answers, but all that came out was, "Whoops....I probably shouldn't have healed you with your boot on...." the Shapeshifter was giving her a scared look. Is she wondering if I somehow stuck part of her sock inside her foot or something? Keena wondered irritably. Her stomach growled, reminding her that hey, I NEED NOURISHMENT HERE. Hold your horses, she told it sternly. "You'll just itch for a while. That's all." She turned back to Lyllae. "Yup, all better. Question: is this town sleeping, or what?" Because like no one was around and it was kind of creeping her out.

Lyllae
"Sleeping?" she looked around the small quiet town trying to find something out of place. "No one should be sleeping. Most everyones out to hunt, fish, and harvest before it gets too cold." She explained to the newcomers. Thats it there new comers, for all I know they sleep at daytime where they come from. wow that would be odd."So now that your foots all better, wanna come in and rest a while? there is some Jerky and fruit we can snack on until Mother gets back with dinner tonight." She could have begged them to stay and save her from the endless boredom of counting birds, but offering them food would probably work better.

Stupid wizard! Sylvanthe thought as she stood up and shifted into her marten form. She ran in a circle, trying to figure out if everything was fine. Yep. Everything worked. And she didn't itch anymore. She morphed back into a human and stretched in relief. That would have been awful if she had itched for a long time. "Why would they be sleeping?" she asked Keena. It was the middle of the day. How dumb would that be. She shook her dark hair out and unwrapped the scarf at her neck, tucking it in her pocket. Don't be afraid to be who you are. Keena gave the girl who had just turned into some kind of rodent!! an annoyed look. "Some people take naps in the middle of the day, okay?" She told Lyllae, "Yeah, that makes more sense." Her head told her not to impose on this girl's hospitality any more, but her stomach said YES YES YES! "If it won't be a bother to feed...us," she said, glancing at the shapeshifter girl. Sylvanthe looked up. What? Food? "I like food," she said to no one in particular. Keena blinked. "Okay then."
